Job Description:

Wincanton is looking for an Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Sector Lead for the General Merchandise Sector. The successful candidate will lead and develop the Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence & Operational Excellence function and deliverables, providing management expertise, coaching and guidance on all CI & Ops Ex activities.

Responsibilities:

• Driving annual strategy development with final presentation to the PLC board, including market analysis, financial projections and narrative
• Performing several pieces of analysis in preparation for the annual retreat and the strategy presentation as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Good understanding of financial statements
• Excellent analytical skills, proficient use of MS Excel
• Ability to prioritise under pressure a must
• Proven organisational, communication and/or project management skills
• Effective communication and presentation skills, proficient use of MS Powerpoint
• Ability to build successful, collaborative internal relationships with all levels of management
• Previous strategy experience, previous experience developing business plans or similar would be a plus
• Knowledge of the logistics industry and/or retail market desirable but not required
