Job Description

The successful candidate will support the Her Majesty’s Inspector on delivering training on the new single pathway foundation training course and other bespoke foundation training offerings. TASU are a group of learning professionals who are vital to ensure best practice is consistent throughout the organisation. Delivery is through a mix of face to face and virtual training methods to predominately new but also existing staff and involves trainers keeping abreast of current and changes in legislation, policy and updating and creating training materials. Trainers should be comfortable in delivering materials in both in the classroom and virtually and provide one to one coaching and feedback sessions to provide delegates with support and honest feedback. TASU is a national unit who holds training courses in different locations around the country and the post holder will be expected to travel to any location to deliver training. Most of our foundation courses are currently held in Croydon and sometimes in Leeds. However, as a national unit, we hope to hold foundation courses in other locations across the country and are currently procuring a larger northern venue in Leeds. Please be aware that delivering on the foundation or other stand-alone courses will require trainers to be away from home for several weeks in one period and could be in any location.

 

Responsibilities:

• This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop and embed a wide range of people and engagement skills within a high performing team, delivering what is required to continue to make the team a great place to work and to support staff and senior managers in delivery.
• TASU has responsibility for the delivery and co-ordination of operational training for front line ECC Officers nationally. Work is high profile and varied which includes leading on the sharing of knowledge, skills and best practices through training.

 

Requirements:

• Annualised hours working is subject to changes in operational needs and managers can adjust, cease or suspend it, for operational or performance reasons. There are no other attendance related allowances.
• Officers will be required to take part in enforcement activities within front line teams to keep their skills current and to complete
• Portfolio if not already done so. This role can be based in Apollo House, Croydon or Moorfield Business Park, Leeds. However, frequent attendance to either Croydon or Leeds will be required. Due to the nature of the role this vacancy is for candidates who are able to work on a full-time basis.
• Your initial rate will be confirmed when you have started in post and will be paid as a percentage of your basic salary. If a member of staff has agreed an annualised hours arrangement, this does not become a permanent or guaranteed right.
• Allowances: This post is being advertised on the Home Office annual hours working terms and conditions and attracts an annualised hours allowance (AHA). The rate payable under annualised hours is driven by business requirements and may vary. This is currently set at 22.68%, which is paid as an annual addition to the salary.
