Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity at a pivotal time for the BBC. You will be instrumental in helping the BBC to deliver comedy & entertainment programming to BBC audiences across all its platforms (BBC1-4 and iPlayer) securing rights and managing risks across the portfolio of programmes.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with senior leaders to understand their editorial ambitions in order to successfully present a range of financially viable, sustainable production options.
• Lead the negotiation to secure key production resources with external suppliers ensuring investment meets stakeholder and audience expectations.
• Work alongside the Head of Business to ensure that staff development and opportunities are prioritized in line with the future strategy.
• Oversee and test plans for business continuity and disaster recovery across BBC Sport.

Requirements:

• Deep expertise and experience in respective content area and a source for creative thinking and innovation.
• Thorough understanding of the way in which programmes are commissioned, financed and produced.
• Broad and comprehensive understanding of all legal, contractual agreements and regulations as they apply to programme making, broadcasting and digital media.
• Extensive experience in managing significant budgets and understanding key financial drivers.
