Job Description

As a regional HSE Advisor you will be responsible for supporting our business customers with the successful deployment of the Ocado Heath, Safety and Environmental management systems and strive to surpass regulatory compliance.
In this role you will be the first point of contact, for the region’s CFC’s management teams, with regard to HSE matters ensuring governance and compliance and supporting and providing guidance and best practice considerations at all times.
Ocado Group Health, Safety & Environmental Team’s mission is to ‘deliver safely for you and our client partners’ to ensure that we are ‘getting everyone home safe and healthy everyday’ and this is a key role that supports the operational teams to achieve this aim.
Reporting into the Regional HSE Supervisor you will be responsible for reviewing risk assessments to ensure effectiveness and accuracy and alignment with safe systems of work. You will make recommendations for improvements, whilst coaching and developing the Ocado workforce and operational teams with regard to HSE management standards and requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to monitoring and maintaining environmental compliance and standards
• Continually review the effectiveness and accuracy of risk assessments and user requirements making recommendations for improvement
• Stay informed of changes in law, and suggest changes for review in policy and management systems
• Provide guidance and best practice considerations
• Carry out HS&E audits and Inspections of all parts of the facilities they are allocated to
• Assist and support with considerations for a wide variety of business projects
• Ensure accurate data is captured and reported with regard to HSE matters in a timely manner by the operational teams
• Diligently review legal and legislative requirements prior to issuing advice
• Be the first point of contact for the facility’s management teams with regard to HSE matters
• Support and coach project management in the development of risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Strive to support business project management in eliminating risks and reducing risk to the Ocado business

 

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in HS&E
• IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management (working towards Associate Certificate)
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• The ability to compile accurate detailed reports
• NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
• A good understanding of basic project management principles
