Job Description:

This is a key role in our recently formed leadership engagement team. We’re developing a new strategy for Network Rail to drive engagement. We’re part of the Customer Services team, combining the best customer service tools with engagement and communication.. Our remit is to work with leaders to help them engage their people more effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the function in achieving objectives and financial targets.
• Leading the finance team to identify resource requirements and recruit as the need arises.
• Managing and co-ordinating the production and submission of business review packs (periodically, quarterly).
• Managing the Corporate Governance process for the function, maintaining compliance with relevant technical accounting standards.
• Maintaining technical standards of accounting in accordance with statutory, regulatory, HMRC and Group Policy & Regulations.
• Where required, maintaining procedures and systems of internal control to protect safe stewardship and custody of assets and maintaining the integrity of the associated financial records.

Requirements:

• Full membership of relevant professional body
• Five years’ post qualification experience
• Experience within at least 2 different finance teams within Network Rail and/or external organisations
• Experience of working in a matrix management organisation
• Experience in project accounting and commercial responsibility for major projects and/or contracts.
• Other relevant professional or academic qualifications
