The Maricopa County Flood Control District has an immediate opening for a CAD and Mapping Specialist with strong technical abilities and a desire to learn and grow professionally! Responsibilities:

• Reviews LiDAR and photogrammetric mapping data to ensure necessary mapping accuracies and specifications are maintained
• Use GIS and automated drafting/mapping tools and programs to complete mapping projects
• Apply cartographic principles, symbols, and terminology in District mapping projects
• Operates and maintains sUAS/Drones for use in mapping, surveying, and inspections. Duties include flight plan preparation, data collection, processing, and documentation
• Coordinates the work of other technical staff and reviews work quality; provides training and guidance in technical approaches to meet project goals
• Produces technically accurate drawings for civil engineering design projects using MicroStation/OpenRoads/InRoads software

Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Geography, GIS, CAD Drafting, or a related field
• Four (4) years of engineering drafting, cartography, GIS, and/or CAD work experience 
• A combination of industry-related, post-secondary education, and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.  
• Must have the ability to obtain a valid FAA Part 107 License Remote Pilot Certificate within six (6) months of hire
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire
• Experience working with ESRI platforms – ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro
• Extensive experience editing data in ArcGIS and checking topology
• Experience using Model Builder and building scripts to automate mapping tasks
• Experience in Cartography and generating maps in ArcGIS
• Experience using ArcGIS Online and creating web maps
• Experience working with raster data
• Experience working with MicroStation/OpenRoads or InRoads applications in an engineering environment
• Knowledge of Photogrammetric/LiDAR mapping principles
• Experience using/creating Digital Surface Models
