We’re looking for a passionate, inspiring and experienced Lead Ranger to join our team and lead for delivery and standards across the incredibly beautiful and nature-rich Cotswolds countryside.

 

Responsibilities:

• Strong organisation skills including time and resource management, confidently able to manage a demanding workload with competing pulls on your time
• Confident in managing budgets, finances, income generation and contracts
• Strong land and access management experience with a good understanding of conservation principles
• Strong leadership skills and experience with the ability to lead a team to deliver effectively
• The passion to lead by example, to deliver exceptional visitor experiences every day and maintain conservation at the heart of all we do
• An excellent communicator with experience in stakeholder management, you’ll be a great champion for the properties with a wide range of audiences and external communities

 

Requirements:

• The team cover over 3,500 hectares of amazing Cotswolds countryside, from Dover’s Hill in the north to Stroud Commons and
• Horton Court in the south. As well as leading for excellence in conservation and land management, you will ensure the team are fully compliant across all areas of health and safety, contract management and through agri-environment schemes for land and woodland management.
• You will report to the Countryside Manager and work alongside another Lead Ranger leading a team of six Area Rangers and three
• Rangers as well as working with the Conservation Grazing Manager and Conservation Grazing Assistant who run the in-hand herd of Belted Galloway cattle managing important grassland sites across the Cotswolds.
