Job Description

Intertek’s Caleb Brett UK business provides quality and quantity measurement, inspection, and laboratory testing services to the global oil, gas, petrochemical, petroleum refining & distribution, natural gas, biofuels, marine, and chemicals industries.

Responsibilities:

• You will ensure that the laboratory contributes to a fair and reasonable profit for the Branch
• Take on a technical role and has overall responsibility for the technical operations and the provision of the resources needed to ensure the required quality of laboratory operation.
• Maintain and improve the laboratory’s technical operation efficiency in a cost-effective manner, and ensure resources such as manpower, training, equipment, workflow etc. are available to create a sustainable laboratory operation
• Provide adequate supervision of testing and review of results
• Ensures that adequate calibrated equipment and trained personnel are available for all jobs
• Evaluates Laboratory employee performance, maintains discipline and recommends hiring and dismissal
• Appoint deputies for key laboratory duties and ensures personnel are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how their role contributes to the quality system
• Sets a positive example for all employees through professional behaviour and maintenance of a professional atmosphere in the workplace
• Supervise Chemists and Laboratory Technicians
