Job Description:

Wincanton is looking for an Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Sector Lead for the General Merchandise Sector. The successful candidate will lead and develop the Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence & Operational Excellence function and deliverables, providing management expertise, coaching and guidance on all CI & Ops Ex activities.

Responsibilities:

• Providing leadership and best practice guidance on Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence for General Merchandise management teams.
• To bring experience and a subject matter expertise in the areas of Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence to deliver great results.
• Supporting the operations and central management teams in ensuring that colleague engagement is ever improving.
• Working with the operations teams to ensure the end to end process flows, variation and data are understood to enable effective CI efforts.
• Ensuring the effective deployment & actioning of Wincanton’s Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Health Checks
• Ensuring Wincanton’s Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Policy is deployed and complied with

Requirements:

• Certified Black Belt or working towards equivalent qualification (training will be supported if necessary, to achieve this)
• Experience in developing and delivering CI & Ops Ex
• Experience of working at a similar level and have knowledge of Lean and process improvement tools and techniques to black-belt level or equivalent.
• MS Office and statistical proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Minitab)
• Knowledge of Project Management tools & techniques
• Experience of managing change in a challenging environment
• Process orientation, with a track record of implementing process improvements and controls within a supply chain environment
