Responsibilities:

• Draft responses to programme regulatory complaints
• Contribute to compliance process continuous improvement
• Provide advice and support to non-legal Compliance team on request
• Provide advice on compliance with broadcasting regulations including the Ofcom
• Broadcasting Code
• Capture compliance data on approved broadcast and compliance systems
• Conduct proactive compliance risk and issue management
• Provide advice on a range of legal issues including defamation, contempt, privacy and copyright
• Ensure that producers (inc 3rd parties) understand their compliance obligations

 

Requirements:

• Ability to provide constructive and creative solutions to legal and compliance problems
• Ability to manage a demanding and varied workload involving every part of the output of
• ITV’s family of channels, including network documentaries, entertainment and reality series, and regional news reporting.
• Knowledge of regulatory Codes and their practical application
• Ability to provide authoritative and succinct advice on very short notice
• Ability to forge effective working relationships with producers, ITV business contacts and the
• Compliance team
• Knowledge of law of defamation, contempt, privacy and copyright
• Ability to exercise sound analytical judgement and risk assessment skills
