Job Description

Immigration Enforcement is an operational command of the Home Office. Immigration Enforcement is a professional law enforcement organisation that works with cross-Government partners and drives action across the Migration and Borders Group.
Immigration Enforcement works with law enforcement and cross-government partners to tackle serious and organised immigration crime with a focus on bringing to justice those who exploit the vulnerable, for example cases of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Requirements:

• Each role will be based in the respective IRCs and routine attendance on site is required.
• Monitoring the service providers’ delivery of the contract to operate the IRCs, together with adherence to legislation, published guidance and standards, identifying issues and trends in performance, actively challenging where appropriate and where necessary ensuring improvements are driven forward.
  Supporting the wider department in its parliamentary and statutory obligations, in responding to litigation,
• Freedom of Information requests (FOIs) and a raft of enquiries from external bodies including the media, in providing timely and accurate site-specific information when required.
• Ensuring recommendations and best practice from third party audits and inspections are actioned and implemented in accordance with agreed action plans.
• Leading, supporting and developing a small team operating in a challenging and very busy environment and enabling them to operate effectively as part of a wider DES network and Home Office operation.
• Establishing and maintaining an excellent working relationships with key partners; custodial provider, healthcare provider and commissioning teams, other Home Office teams and relevant local stakeholders to ensure a ‘whole centre’ approach to the operation of the IRCs and care of those in detention.
