Job Description

You will work closely with the Head of Business Services and Product Managers to provide leadership and direction to all products and services for the CPO (Chief People Officer) business area of HMRC. You will be an active leader within the wider Business Analyst community. You will be champion of user needs and an advocate for delivering value early and often.
A Principal Business Analyst has a good understanding of the enterprise arena and works on multiple, highly complex projects. They are a leader in the BA community (across government and externally) and have functional management, or people management accountabilities, or a combination of both. They proactively share knowledge and are seen as a go-to person in their field whilst also mentoring others and owning key stakeholder relationships. A principal business analyst may lean towards a more specialist or a more management focused career path.

Responsibilities:

  • Working within HMRC’s IT (CDIO) function, this role will work closely with the Head of Business, Lead
  • Product and Business Relationship managers.
  • As Principal Business Analyst, you will be an expert in the analysis of SAP-based HR & Employee Payments systems and services.
  • Working in partnership with Chief People Officer (CPO) stakeholders and leadership team to build comprehensive understanding of the business processes utilising SAP technologies and the requirements needed from solutions to improve/transform.
  • You will support Corporate HR and where required lead on wider HR initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Working with other government departments or companies who use SAP HR (or equivalents) technologies, learning from collaborative working and sharing best practice.
  • You will focus on End-to-end business operations for HR; understanding holistic business requirements, collaborating with other IT functions, and aligning with end-to-end IT service management.
  • You will work with the business to understand and articulate their requirements, ensuring security, compliance and other governance requirements are identified.
  • Input to the future roadmap, working with suppliers and CDIO colleagues to help transform HMRC HR systems.
