Position Title: Head of Data Modernisation

Job Description

Job Summary: Data is one of Beazley’s greatest assets. As Head of Data Modernisation, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders to establish a data strategy that supports the overall business strategy. You will proactively work with internal and external stakeholders to capture functional requirements and ensure these are actioned by development teams, whilst working with other business leaders and stakeholders to promote a data culture and drive learning and development. You will also help develop and coordinate backlogs across functional teams, and work with the Chief Data Officer to mature data literacy and capability as Beazley undertakes a significant investment in modernisation, enabling you to embed a culture of excellence in Data products.

Responsibilities:

  • Set out a strategic direction for business domains to follow & assist in planning relevant product delivery
  • Deliver modern Data Products that enhance capability and maturity across Beazley, and ensure appropriate, accurate and up-to-date intelligence is integrated into our systems at the point of need
  • Defining the modern Data Management Framework, sharing the expectations to relevant stakeholders across Beazley
  • Define the enterprise strategy for Modern Data Architecture and deliver the process, tools and platform that enhance business outcomes
  • Work with domains to ensure all data products and services meet a need and use data to its fullest potential.
  • Manage a resource portfolio and performance via coaching and feedback. Assign & allocate resources from multiple sources, as appropriate, to deliver enhanced business outcomes
  • Develop and execute plans to improve self-serve capabilities for data users and ensure efficient use of data products

  • Analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and help the business to assess options and solutions that best fit requirements
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise
  • Stakeholder management and ability to communicate concisely at a number of levels
  • Ability to understands business principles and strategic drivers
