About the job
We are looking for a Head of Assurance to lead the Assurance, Risk and Architecture function and integrate cyber assurance into delivery and engagement activities on behalf of and supporting the CISO. As head of this combined team, you will be responsible for running and developing a team of civil servants and contractors who work on time critical, commercially-sensitive, and security-vital projects. You will work closely with contacts across Government and manage networks of internal and external stakeholders. You will have a background in cyber security, with knowledge of key security technologies, frameworks and best practices. You will also have an awareness of the challenges presented in delivering effective, high performing security services in a complex and evolving environment.
This role represents a fantastic opportunity to help shape the organisational approaches and processes relating to security risk management, assurance and architecture capabilities for a new government department. - Work with the team to identify areas to be proactive in security and helping build links with areas that can enable the team to address risks before they become issues
- Own the team’s development plan and drive capability improvements within key functional areas
- Build and maintain strong operational relationships with government agencies, suppliers and partners to drive efficient communication and collaboration on security issues
