Job Description:

A customer calls. Her name is Alison, she is calling from New York about an issue with her MATCHESFASHION order. In her previous experience with other brands these phone calls are time-consuming and unhelpful so she is already preparing herself for an irritating conversation. Except that Customer Care means something different at MATCHESFASHION and it’s YOU that picked up her call.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the CFO and Head of Financial Control & Investor Relations, you will establish the right culture in Finance (total team size of c.50) and enhance the skills, knowledge, and overall quality of the function.
• Leading a commercial finance team of 7 with 6 within the Commercial Finance team (2x Managers, 3x Analysts and 1x BI Analyst) plus a Procurement Manager
• Take overall responsibility for the core commercial finance requirements of the Group leading the month end board reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Work with Financial Control team to drive “one version of the truth” through finance system structures and reporting complementing both the business structure and areas of focus
• Maintain a dialogue with Apax Partners to help them understand the performance of the business and provide input into investor relations with lenders and credit insurers

Requirements:

• Effectively influencer at all levels to build trust and identify and drive organizational priorities and initiatives
• A challenger mindset, constructively leveraging multiple data points and analysis
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and comfortable using Word/Powerpoint
• CIMA/ACA qualified
• Proven financial management expertise within a similar environment at a similar level
• Experience with management information across multiple functions, and an ability to extract insight and action-orientated steer for business partners
• Demonstrable experience of analysing complex data and proven experience of influencing business decisions using this.
