Do you have experience of manipulating, analysing and communicating insight from data?

 

Would you like to use your analytical skills to develop data and analysis feeding into key decisions being taken by Ministers and senior officials in the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP)?

We are looking to recruit up to 20 Data Analysts to fill key posts across a range of DWP business areas.

You’ll join our Analytical Community (AC) of over 700 analysts made up of Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Economists, Statisticians, Operational Researchers and Social Researchers. The DWP AC is an excellent place to work and as one of the largest in Government we can offer a wide variety of development, training and promotion opportunities, making us a great place to develop and grow as an analyst.

Our analysis in DWP is built upon comprehensive, robust and timely data, fully aligned to Departmental priorities. The wealth of data we have access to is unprecedented and allows us to work in real time, enabling our analysis to feed effectively into the decision-making process.

The role of Data Analysts in the DWP AC is around the ability to understand, manipulate, accurately analyse and communicate insight from data. As a Data Analyst you’ll have the opportunity to apply a range of techniques such as statistical analysis and time series forecasting using a variety of analysis and data visualisation tools such as SAS, SQL, R, advanced Excel and Qlik.

We have variety of roles available across a number of different DWP business areas including roles in operational analysis, data development and publication, forecasting / modelling and performance measurement, all underpinned by an unprecedented wealth of data.

Posts can be done from any of our analytical hub locations in Leeds, London Westminster, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield, Birmingham, Glasgow and Treforest.
