The Digital, Data, and Technology (DDaT) directorate in the Department of International Trade (DIT) are seeking 2 Product Adoption Managers.

In this role you will work directly with our product teams to accelerate product and service adoption across DIT. Your role requires taking a user-centred approach in your decision making, helping to close the loop between users and our products both internally and externally. It will be your responsibility to add value by not just increasing user numbers, but by engaging and delighting the user at each stage of their journey. Message reinforcement and user retention will be equally weighted with driving awareness of new features and gaining new users. You will be required to monitor and measure the success of your adoption campaigns, while linking the outcomes back to DDaT and DIT strategic objectives.

Whether you are joining from a product marketing, communications or digital background, this role will be varied and give you space to innovate and fine-tune your product adoption skills. The position sits in the Engagement and Strategic Adoption team and provides an opportunity to work closely with a large and growing community of DDaT professionals and DIT staff across the globe, offering you opportunities to stretch and develop in your career.

Job Description

What we are looking for from you…

You will be an experienced Product Adoption Manager who can:

  • Partner with Product Managers to drive awareness, growth and adoption of DDaT’s products and services
  • Deliver effective adoption campaigns from discovery through to reinforcement
  • Provide analytics on engagement and adoption activities, understanding how they deliver to objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Use a variety of tactics and channels to reach and interact with intended audience
  • Create feedback cycles with product teams and users, closing the loop to facilitate continued improvements
  • Produce and deliver presentations and workshops
  • Consider innovative approaches to product adoption and communications
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders in DDaT and DIT

Essential Skills And Experience

You will have demonstrable skills and experience of:

  • Comfortable working autonomously in an agile and fast-paced environment
  • Highly organised and able to juggle multiple work streams
  • Excited to support change and encourage engagement within and outside of DIT DDaT
  • Confident communicating with various stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desirable Skills And Experience

This is not necessary but would be ideal if you have:

  • Product marketing experience
  • Communications experience
  • A passion for digital, data and technology

This role is available in 3 UK locations, including central London, Darlington and Cardiff.

This role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in the office on average. Changes to these working arrangements are available in certain circumstances, but must be agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Travel to your primary office location will not be paid for by DIT, but costs for travel to an office which is not your main location will be covered.

At the sift stage for this role, we will assess you against the essential criteria listed above. We will score each essential criteria out of 3 using the evidence provided in your personal statement and CV. For your personal statement you can use bullet points and subheadings if you prefer, there is no word limit but we recommend writing around 300 words. As well as evidencing the criteria you should also touch upon why you’re interested in DIT, and in this particular role .

If we receive a high volume of applications, we will conduct a ‘short sift’ and read one element of your application. For this campaign a short sift would be conducted based on CV only.

How You’ll Be Assessed

At the interview stage for this role, you will be asked to demonstrate relevant behaviours and strengthsfrom the Success Profiles framework. A role-specific list of these can be found below.

Applicants successful to interview stage will be asked to deliver a presentation and will be informed on the topic following the sift.

Appointments may be made to candidates in merit order based on location preferences. Candidates who pass the bar at interview but are not the highest scoring will be held on a 12-month reserve list for future appointments. Candidates who are judged to be a near miss at interview may be offered a post at the grade below the one advertised.

If successful and transferring from another Government Department a criminal record check may be carried out.
