Job Description

The Director of Cyber and Security Operations is responsible for the strategy, design, build and support of Security Operations across the Weir Group of companies, including the 24 x 7 Security Operations Centre provided as a service to all operating units of the group.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across the entire IS&T SLT driving a culture of effective security into every part of the technology eco system.
• Collaborate and as part of the Core Services Leadership team including contributing to and operating within the overall technology strategy for the group as whole.
• Provide proactive operational support when service quality is impacted
• Ensure the annual security operations budget is being spent in a way that maximizes return on investment to the business as a whole, while delivering the protection the business needs
• Define and test the threat detection framework (external and internal)
• Define and test the operational threat response procedure
• Ensure full data sourcing and capture
• Operations manages the security operations budget and ensures budget spend is used to offer the best value security protection critical for the safe technology operations of the group as a whole.
• Provide security operations expert input into technology design, development and operations team company wide

Requirements:

• The successful candidate must have held a number of senior technologist’s positions, and specifically a senior position within a Technology Security team, within a medium to large organisation comprising digital and omni-channel services.
• Accomplished senior leader in “design before technology” security operations, behavioral factors, digital security and enabling technologies and processes
• Expertise and leadership in security practices, risk, technology, operations and threat detection and response
• Expertise in human and digital factors affecting security
• Proven track record creating and managing large-scale, global high availability, mission-critical digital products and IT systems
• Proven background delivering major IT or commercial programmes
• Extensive experience managing external suppliers
• Extensive experience utilising project tools and methodologies to best advantage
• Proven experience in designing and delivering technical solutions that address security problems.
• Significant experience managing senior stakeholders up to and including Board Directors
• Demonstrable experience influencing at a senior level, which builds collaborative and trusted internal networks that achieve strategic goals.
• A track record providing leadership in thought and vision
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
