Job Description:

This post forms part of the Financial Reporting Team which manages the CPS’s accounting records, produces the monthly and annual accounts, manages the CPS’s cash balances by ensuring accurate and timely reporting and forecasting, and undertakes a range of other financial functions for the CPS.

Responsibilities:

• The postholder will be one of three Finance Officer posts on the team and will be required to undertake a range of financial tasks.
• These will include producing and posting journals, performing reconciliations, producing reports.
• Taking responsibility for the accuracy of accounting information.

Requirements:

• The role will involve interacting with staff in the Areas and HQ to coordinate information requirements and provide advice on CPS accounting policy.
• The role includes line management of up to two A2 members of staff within the team.
• There will be involvement with the preparation of information and evidence for the auditors (National Audit Office) and also liaising with the Treasury, HMRC and other government departments.
