Job Description:

A Budget Coordinator is a professional level leadership position in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).  This classification may supervise Management Associates, Budget Analysts, and Senior Budget Analysts, and is responsible for providing strategic direction and coordinating work in an OMB area of specialization.  This class collaborates regularly with, and provides training to, financial and operational staff in City departments.

Responsibilities:

•  Must possess a valid Arizona Class C or higher Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) or, if no CDL then must pass the written test for an HME designation by hire or promotion.
•  The skills demonstration portion of the Class C CDL test must be completed within 150 days of hire or promotion and will be administered by a City of Mesa Third Party Tester.
•  Must meet the qualifications to wear a tight fitting respirator by passing a medical evaluation in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.134 by hire or promotion date and must maintain certification.
•  Must obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification within 1 year of hire or promotion.
•  Must obtain Department of Homeland Security Chemical-terrorism Vulnerability Information (CVI) Authorized User certification within one year of hire or promotion date.
•  Must attend Confined Space training through the City of Mesa.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Extensive (5+ years) full-time professional-level employment in accounting, budget preparation, auditing, or a closely related professional-level financial/fiscal position.
