Job Description

Responsibilities:

• The London Borough of Bromley Education, Care and Health Services Division are looking for a Blue Badge Assessor to work in the Adult Occupational Therapy Service.
• The Blue Badge Assessor role requires a broad range of post graduate experience working with people with a range of disabilities; to enable them to assess applicant needs objectively in line with the Department for Transport guidance.
• Prior blue badge assessment experience is not essential but is desirable. We use a structured assessment form to guide the process.The assessments are undertaken at either Lewis House in Beckenham, or at Bromley Civic Centre.
• The role will mainly involve face to face clinical assessments of applicants but there may be an element of screening applications prior to assessment.
• The face to face assessment involves a discussion and mobility assessment which takes into account submitted medical evidence to support the application.

• We provide a full induction programme and regular professional supervision. We are dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of our service and offer on the job learning opportunities and a dedicated OT Training Programme.
• We run a Journal Club, and a Clinical Reasoning Group which provides an opportunity to discuss, and problem solve complex cases and to support less experienced staff to increase their knowledge and skills.
