Job Description:

Alexa Shopping Design innovates at the intersection of AI and retail shopping. We envision Alexa as a helpful shopping assistant for busy customers and their households, always there to support their shopping needs from product discovery and inspiration to ensuring they never run out of household essentials. We seek to unlock Alexa’s full potential by designing thoughtful and intuitive voice, multimodal and mobile experiences that millions of customers love to use every day by enabling them to easily and quickly complete their shopping wherever they prefer.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and specify design concepts, solutions, and needs to senior executives
    Develop the Alexa Shopping Design System from initial concept through to final implementation and management
  • Contribute to the group’s best practices for UI design while continually advocating design thinking, process, and craft throughout our organisation
  • Use diverse inputs —e.g., product leadership, market analysis, customer feedback, metrics and usability findings — to identify and define new concepts and solutions to customer problems
  • Lead customer advocacy and integrate user research into your workflow
  • Design and develop graphical user interfaces using code, video and prototyping tools
  • Working with engineering and product in Alexa Shopping, as well as with partner teams across Amazon.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organisation
  • Expertise with standard design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
  • A bachelor’s degree in design, interaction or a related UX degree, or commensurate industry experience
  • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating strong visual communication, deep understanding of typography, colour, digital executions, and great user-centered design solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management skills and ability to be self-directed as needed
  • Several years of experience as a UX/Interaction Designer or a similar role
